Don't Be A Jackass
Think whatever you want of Apple’s stance on Flash for iPhone and iPad. Call it a war (it’s not). But if you greet your visitors by giving them the finger, you’re just a jackass.
You see, this is not about you. It’s not about Apple, and it’s not about Adobe. It’s about your visitors. Flash hasn’t worked on the iPhone OS since its launch—for almost three years. If you build a site and blame Steve for it not working, you’re blaming someone else for your own ignorance.
Most people probably have no idea how Flash works or why it doesn’t work on their device, and they couldn’t care less. But they’re trying to reach your site, and you’re turning them down and offending them in the process. How does that make you look?
Want your site to work? Make it work. I’m tired of hearing the “I can’t believe they’re doing this against the flash community“-bullshit. It’s not about you or some community. For whatever reasons, Apple has chosen not to include flash on some of its devices, and you’d better adapt, or your visitors are going to suffer.
